The value of having the right mentality - client profile Daniel Latty

I want to illustrate the impact the right mindset can have on the outcomes of an individual and a business.

For just over eight months I have had the pleasure of mentoring and working with Daniel Latty from PRD nationwide Penrith. Our intent initially was simply to have a sounding board and grow from there. My first objective was to understand what he wanted for himself both professionally and personally. Our weekly meetings initially focused on him working smarter in the business, developing daily habits required to build the steps for consistent results.

A turning point came earlier this year when Dan had doubts about achieving some of his goals for the year.

I find that when we focus too much on the outcomes and not enough on the habits and process to get you there, you will generally jeopardise any plans or goals you have. It leads to lack of structure as you continue to chase the outcome with band aid solutions. Imagine building a house from the top down as opposed to foundations and then up. We need to ensure our building blocks are solid and that we believe in them.

Our work during this time was to focus on marketing ideas, plans to get activity super charged and ensure policies and processes were implemented and commuincated internally. In every instance Daniel absorbed our discussions and grew week by week, into a person helping manage and drive a business as opposed to simply working in it.

We have never spoken about any challenges in achieving outcomes or numbers again, simply the next steps for growth in himself, staff around him and systems to drive PRD Penrith further. Now the problems we face are, fast growth, internal records tumbling month by month, changing how things are done, far better problems to have!

We have been able to drive this with the support of PRD Penrith owner Darren Latty.

I am very proud of Daniel’s growth and willingness to open his mindset and take on new challenges.
